John Lasseter's Hawaiian Shirt Collection: As Awesome As It Sounds

One of the coolest exhibit's at D23 Expo 2015 had to be John Lasseter's Hawaiian Shirt Collection. Leave it to one of the creative genius' behind the success of Disney Pixar Studios (and and many other Disney projects) to make wearing Hawaiian shirts trendy again! For those who know John Lasseter, they are well aware of his love for Hawaiian shirts. He says, "A Hawaiian shirt is like a toy you can wear."

The backstory: In 1999 designer Reyn Spooner created a custom Hawaiian shirt for John Lasseter featuring art and characters from the film, "Toy Story 2." John has made sure that a "wearable toy" be designed for him for nearly every Pixar Animation, Disneytoon Studios and Walt Disney Animation realease ever since. These unique and fashionable creations are not only a tradition, but now an expected and vibrant celebration of the films' characters and worlds.

We were filled with "Joy" to see these 20 colorful creations from films like Inside Out to Toy Story from The Incredibles to Frozen. The wearable art was on display for all to look at, it was like looking at paintings on the wall of an art gallery. You'd never think of a Hawaiian shirt as a masterpiece, but the way these are designed with Disney Animated Classics - is really extraordinary.
