If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It -Walt Disney

We are all big dreamers in our family. Our parents have always taught us to dream big and nothing was ever out of our reach. Maybe that's part of love for Disney. Walt Disney believed "If you can dream it, you can do it" We recently had the honor of attending the media preview of Epic Mickey 2, earlier we shared with you our tour of Walt Disney's Apartment in Disneyland, as we took "A Walk In Walt's Footsteps."  Today, we'd like to share what it was like to meet the "men behind the digital mouse." Below are videos of us interviewing Warren Spector, Paul Weaver, and Bill Roper. It was really special hearing about the love for Disney these men have, and the length they go to at Junction Point to deliver a video game that is obvious to us, their dream come true. We especially love the part of the game's name "The Power Of Two" a tribute to the original two partners, Walt and Mickey and the new video game duo Mickey Mouse and Oswald The Rabbit.

We were inspired to hear the stories of their passion for what they do and the love they have for their jobs. They reminded us, you can love what you do. It made us realize as parents how important our job is to instill those simple yet crucial lessons into our children. You can be anything you want, if you work hard and believe in yourself.

Getting to know Paul Weaver was a highlight of our day! After our interview, we knew we had found a kindred spirit. We spent the rest of the day touring Disneyland together and we even sat at the same table at none other than the famous Club 33, inside Disneyland for dinner. We are grateful to the magic of Disney for putting us together with Paul Weaver, we are thrilled to know such an awesome Disney Fan! Thanks for hanging out with us crazy sisters, Paul!!!

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney

Watch the video below as Warren Spector shares his excitement about Epic Mickey 2. His passion is contagious as he talks about all the new adventures that await the player of this new epic game.

“You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” -Walt Disney

Tinker Bell and Periwinkle Open An Ice Skating Rink at Disney

In celebration of "Secret Of The Wings," Tinkerbell, and Periwinkle a magical outdoor ice rink is now located in the middle of Downtown Disney. Last night we braved the Southern California cold (65 degrees) and ventured out into the Winter Woods aka Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. There is a very special event happening and being that we're sisters,
we couldn't wait to be a part of it!

The Disney Land Resort along with Disney Toon Studios has turned Downtown Disney into a winter wonderland to welcome Periwinkle, the winter fairy. Tinkerbell and Periwinkle discover they are sisters in Disney's newest cartoon Fairy Movie "Secret Of The Wings" now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

"Secret Of The Wings" Director Peggy Holmes and Producer Michael Wigert spoke at the Grand Opening Event of the Ice Rink that's being called "Tink Rink". Presenting the new ice skating rink was Disneyland Resort Ambassador Rene Torrico; Vice President of Resorts and Downtown Disney Daniel Delcourt; and Downtown Disney's General Manager Janet Knox. The animated cartoon movie "Secret Of The Wings" features a new song "The Great Divide" from the McClain Sisters.

Yes, there is even a mini zamboni to resurface the ice.

Learn how to skate!

We can't wait to come back during the holidays with the whole family!
The ice skating rink is open now through January.

We'd like to say an extra special thanks to our friends, "Secret Of The Wings" Director Peggy Holmes and Producer Michael Wigert for speaking to us about Fairies, Tinkerbell and Periwinkle finding each other for the first time, the importance of sisterhood, and the Mcclain Sisters singing "The Great Divide".  This is our very favorite Disney movie of 2012!!!

Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse - The Power Of Two

All three Disney Sisters are big dreamers. We each have different hopes and dreams but we all share a love for Disney. About a week ago, we had a dream of ours come true and we are so excited to share our day with our readers through video provided to us by Disney.

The adventure began with a mysterious save the date email that was very vague. We recognized Mickey Mouse and Oswald in the email and were really happy figuring we would be exploring the new Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two video game. As details of the event came in, there was mention of a  car service, The Grand Californian Hotel, lunch and interviews with Warren Spector and Paul Weaver of Junction Point, Peter Ong of DreamRift and Disney Interactive's VP of Product Development, Bill Roper and as if that wasn't enough, dinner in a secret private location. To say we were excited would have been an understatement!

When we arrived at the event, we played Epic Mickey 2 and had a lovely lunch as they shared with us the inspiration Disneyland had given them when designing the video game. There are many specific things in Disneyland that have significance in the game, Epic Mickey 2 like animatronics. Our day was filled with Disney game magic and we were loving every minute of it. Little did we know what was about to come next.

After lunch, we were whisked off to Disneyland and given the once in a lifetime opportunity to take a "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour with Warren Spector and Paul Weaver of Junction Point. During the tour Warren Spector pointed out how he, Paul Weaver and the rest of his team used The Disneyland Train Station, Main Street and The Hub as well as the iconic Castle view as inspiration when creating wasteland to give players something familiar to connect with that made them want to play and ultimately save Wasteland. When we found out in the tour we were going to see Walt Disney's apartment, we were giddy. We could almost not contain ourselves.
It was a dream come true.

When you watch the video, you will notice two things, one that Becky gets really emotional inside Walt Disney's apartment listening to the stories and two, the surprise private location for dinner was none other than Club 33! The video actually shows inside Walt's apartment and inside the upstairs dining room of Club 33!!! As most Disney fans know, these are two places cameras/video cameras are almost never allowed.

We hope you enjoy watching the video!
(Warning: this video is 26 minutes of all the Disney magic you can possibly handle!!!)

If you have a Disneyland pass or this is your first visit the park, taking one of the Disneyland tours would be a real treat. We recommend getting reservations and finding out more by visiting Disneyland's website.

10 Tips For Halloween at Disneyland And Mickey's Halloween Party

As soon as the Disneyland Resort announces the dates for Halloween Time our family starts planning our costumes. We know that we are going to go on Opening Night, as we do every year. .  Halloween at Disneyland is a big deal and a family tradition for us.

10 Tips to make the most of your night
at Mickey's Halloween Party:
  1. Get there early and stay late. This event is so popular it's almost always is sold out. We suggest getting there at least an hour early and walk around or eat an early dinner at one of the restaurants in Downtown Disney. At the same time, if you can stay until closing, do so. The hours fly by when you are having fun & if everyone in your party can hang late, we've found staying until the very end is even more enjoyable once the crowds die down.
  2. Park in the Toy Story Parking Lot. You will take a shuttle to the park instead of the tram but it is usually a lot less crowded and the Mickey and Friends Parking Lot can be absolutely jammed. Toy Story Parking Lot is located at Katella and Harbor.
  3. Expect Traffic! We can't warn you enough that it can take up to an hour to get from the freeway exit to the entrance gate. Pack extra patience and know that once you're inside the "Happiest Place On Earth" it will all be worth it.
  4. Pack Water. All that trick or treating fun is hard work and chocolate makes you really thirsty. They sell water at the parks but we like to bring our own water so we can spend our money on food and souvenirs.
  5. Bring Your Own Trick or Treating Bags. As you enter the park, they give each guest a small size bag. We prefer to bring our own larger size bag and you can even match it to your costume if you want. A larger bag is also good to carry your bottle of water and maybe even a sweatshirt.
  6. Don't Stop At The First Trick or Treat Trail You Come To. If the line is long at the first trick or treat station pass it up and head further into the park. There are so many Trick or Treat Trails you don't have to stop on Main Street, it's usually the most crowded. If you do see long lines, don't worry they move quickly.
  7. Bring Your Camera and or Video Camera. Although most of the party takes place in the dark. You can get some great photos of your kids meeting characters in costumes. Video cameras are especially fun at the 2 dance party areas.
  8. Bring Glow Sticks and a Small Flashlight. Glowing in the dark is fun at any age. Head over the the dollar store and buy some glow necklaces or bracelets to add to the fun. Having a small flashlight has really come in handy for our family and can also be used to play shadow games on the ground while waiting in lines.
  9. Comfortable Shoes. Wear your costume and go all out! But we highly suggest wearing comfortable shoes. Even a Princess gets blisters and tired feet, especially if she's running around all night in her glass slippers.
  10. You Have To Ask For Healthy "Treats". At every trick or treat station they have a variety of healthy snacks like raisins, carrots, dried cranberries and apples. But we have found that you have to ask for the healthy snacks.
