The Disney Haunted Mansion Moves To Club Penguin

Do you remember last year's Club Penguin's Halloween Party
Well, if you loved the island of Transylvania, this year promises you'll have more Ghoulish Fun!

Starting today the Club Penguin Halloween Party begins with The Haunted Mansion at Disney taking over Club Penguin and 9 creepy rooms to discover. The island is overrun by ghosts and it's up to players to protect it by becoming ghost hunters! First, players must find the Ghost Goggles hidden in the haunted mansion to be able to see the ghosts they are hunting, next find the Ghost Lab. There are cool costumes, spook-tacular scavenger hunts and an Igloo Contest! Some very lucky players will be able to interact with Gary the Gadget Guy during the Halloween party, helping him solve the mystery of his great uncle Gariwald's disappearance.

We'd like to share a Club Penguin code with you from Disney Parks Blog,

UP Valentine's Day Card from Disney Family

Learn how to make this Valentine's Day Card from Disney Family inspired by the movie UP!

Our family loves holidays. We enjoy making a big deal over each special day. We even plan our calendars around them. Christmas, Halloween, Easter, you name it, we love it! The tradition started with our Great-Grandmother and has come on down the line to us girls. Valentine's Day is definitely one of the most festive days of the year. Any chance to celebrate LOVE is fine by us. Plus our mom's Birthday is February 11th, so while growing up the entire month of February was always extra special.

There is an online Disney destination that is a no-brainer for us, to get ideas for arts, crafts, cards & recipes, especially during the holidays. It's called DisneyFamily.Com and if you are not familiar with it, here are some other cute Valentine's Day cards that will make you a fan: Woody's Lasson Valentine,  Lumiere's Flicking Hearts Valentine, Charm-ing Cars Valentine's.

Last year I made my husband a handmade card that I found on Disney Family. We really like the movie UP, and I just fell in love with this craft the second I saw it. Here are the steps to make this adorable Valentine's Day Card inspired by the Disney Pixar Animated film UP. This would also work perfectly as a Birthday card, or Congratulatory card by changing the wording on the inside. Get creative and just have fun with it . . .  I know I sure did!

You will need:
You will need an 8 x 10 cardstock page
Additional piece of paper or cardstock to make the house
Small Heart Stickers around 15 (optional)
Pens, Markers or Crayons to color the house
Black marker for the windows & balloon strings
Glue or Glue Stick

Print out this page of House Cut-Outs / Design your own house template
(I made this craft last year & it is no longer available online, but I have an image of the page, these are from DisneyFamily.com. We did not create it.)
Buy heart stickers, or cut out small heart shapes. (I liked the idea of buying, because it meant less cutting for me) I got these from the Target dollar bin, (these hearts were kind of cool because they had a felt-like feel to them) but any craft store will do.

Cut shapes that will turn into the house.
We used 6 shapes here, (since we already had the heart shapes for balloons) including:
House Front, Roof, Dormer, Window Bay, Window Bay Roof, Chimney.

Color one side of your shapes, any shade you choose. I thought the more colorful the better, and liked painting each shape a different color. But different shades of brown would work too. (they show that in the online example below)

Glue your shapes together to form the UP house. I used a glue stick.

Draw in your windows and the door with a black marker. I also outlined the house, but you can do whatever you think works well.

Then fold a 8x10 piece of cardstock paper longways & glue your house towards the bottom of the card. (make sure to save room for the balloons and the long strings.) We used white, but the example used blue (for sky) which also looked super cute.

Glue down as many heart balloon shapes as you want towards the top of the card. (I think I used 16) Make sure to leave plenty of room to draw in balloon strings. When you have the amount of ballons you are happy with draw in a bunch of ballon strings in black marker from the roof to the bottoms of the balloons, it doesn't have to be exact.

Lastly personalize your card with a little note to your special someone. Any sappy reference to UP, Ellie & Carl, the sky, or flying will do!
This was my husband's Valentine's Day card last year I put, "You make my heart soar!"

Happy Valentine's Day...

You make our hearts soar!

with love,
Disney Sisters

How Club Penguin Celebrates Halloween

Club Penguin Celebrates Halloween with a Party

Now through October 31, ghosts and goblins are invading Disney’s Club Penguin as the island transforms into Halloween Transylvania for its annual Halloween Party. Those penguins sure like to party, which is cool because so do we!

HALLOWEEN ISLAND

Penguins can put on their spookiest costumes for 2011 Halloween Party featuring the island’s spooktacular transformation, new games and costumes, igloo trick-or-treating and famous penguin meet and greets. Jessica's daughters favorite is the penguin in the witch costume. She keeps saying, "I want to play with the witch, I want to play with the witch." LOL. Speaking of Cute Costumes we cozied up to a few Club Penguins last week at a Halloween Costume Party with Disney Interactive. Pretty Adorable... Oh and the penguins are cute too!

Did you know that  Club Penguin has just "launched" their first mobile app, Puffle Launch, which is based on the popular Puffle Launch game from the virtual world. Everything you loved about the game online is now apart of Disney Mobile, for Magic on the Go! It's now available for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch for $0.99. You can find it in the iTunes Store. And also for android devices as well.

Full Disclosure: This is not a paid post. We were invited to a Halloween Bash from DIMG to play the games.

Who's Cooking in the Muppets Kitchen?

Who's Cooking in the Muppets Kitchen?

  CAT CORA!                               That's Who!

(Isn't she Adorable???)                                 (And she's REALLY Nice too!!!)

And What's she Cooking?

Hasty Tasty Treats for everyone with the help of The Muppets!

Recipe for a Good Time:
Last week a few mommies and I got to share quite a tasty experience. We were invited to the Disney Studios in Burbank, to meet Cat Cora and learn all about her new web Series with the Muppets.
Well, you already know I'm a complete Disney Fanatic. So going to the Disney Studios was pretty awesome for me.

What I liked about it was how funny, cute & clever these little skits are. It just reminds me of why I loved the Muppets as a child, and why parents love them too. The Muppets that were there in the Studio with us were Pepe and Angelo. They had a great chemistry with Cat and really made the cooking session FUN. Pepe was even tweeting live from the show. *(Follow them on Twitter @MuppetsStudio)

Meeting Cat was also a thrill. As the First female Iron Chef on the Food Network, I have admired her for years and enjoyed watching her throw down with the boys on Iron Chef. When she wins, I always cheer extra loud! We each got a new copy of her book, and she signed them for us. She was very gracious and kind, which is so refreshing when a celebrity is so genuine. She also had some good tips that I will be sure to use in and out of the kitchen.

We've all heard the saying "Don't Play With Your Food." Well I highly disagree. Making food fun is one of the most important things you can do for them. Getting in the kitchen and cooking together. Teaching them about a variety of different things. Especially for picky eaters, like my daughter, adding new foods into the equation. Even if she doesn't eat them, right now. Hopefully she'll learn to appreciate more vegetables, and less potato chips! I think I'm on the right track...

Thanks to Cat, Angelo, Pepe, Disney Interactive Media, Dana, Kirsten, Brett, and all of the childcare girls for making this event so delicious!!!

*Moms and Dads: If you're looking for something new to do with your kids (which we always are)... I recommend you go to The Muppets Kitchen Online for recipes for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. You'll laugh together, you'll cook together, and you'll whip up memories and healthy eats for your family.
