Trick or treating at Disneyland - yes please! A favorite family tradition of ours has always been to visit
Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time. The haunted holiday sights and sounds, the fall decor and the pumpkins! But even more spook-tacular then Halloween Time is
Mickey's Halloween Party. To be able to dress up, enter
Disneyland Park and go trick or treating with our children is beyond dreamy! Everyone is invited to Mickey's Halloween Party which takes place on 17 select nights which started on September 25 and continue until October 31, 2015. We went on opening night and had loved watching the 'Happiest Place on Earth' transform into the 'Spookiest Place on Earth.' We hope you enjoy our photos!

We've been there and done that and want to share with you 7 helpful tips to make you get the most enjoyment our of your magical night of suprises! When it comes to Disney Parks it's always nice to come prepared and have a game plan, even if it is very loose. It would be one thing if we were going to Disneyland alone, but we've usually got kids in tow and we find the more you know the better an experience you have.
DISNEY SISTERS' HELPFUL TIPS
Helpful Tip 1. Bring your own trick-or-treat bag! Yes, Disney provides everyone plastic bags that are perfectly fine but we like to go shopping ahead of time for bags for our family. We think it makes it more fun when we either match bags or each have our own unique style of goody bag so that we don't mix them up throughout the evening.
Helpful Tip 2. Bring glow sticks, light-up necklaces, light sabers, wands or whatever that will be fun in the night. We put a glowstick in each persons bag so they can see what treats they want to eat (or trade) next. Also we like to wear the glow necklaces so that we can spot each other easier.
Helpful Tip 3. When it comes to costumes consider the weather. Some years (like this one) there's been tempaeratures close to 100 degrees and if you have to walk around Disneyland in a heavy, furry yeti costume, you probably won't have very much fun. Check the weather and plan ahead. Be flexible and try to get a costume that you can adjust if need be due to extreme heat, etc.
Helpful Tip 4. Have dinner before you come, or eat at DTD or inside the Park before the Party gets started to maximize your time! You can even make sandwiches or get them to go at Earl of Sandwich. (Our favorite is the Holiday sandwich with Turkey and all the fixings. Perfect Fall meal!)
Helpful Tip 5. Plan to start the night in Mickey's Toontown. It's like a pre-party for those with wristbands. They close an hour early to the public and this is the first place that is open for trick-or-treating. The line stacks up pretty fast, so you'll want to get there as early as possible. It's a great kick-off to the night and you can meet characters, get some treats and take fun photos while it is still light outside.
Helpful Tip 6. Comfortable Shoes are A MUST! Even Princesses know when to leave their glass slippers at home. This event is not for the stilletto heel wearin' ladies! You will be far more comfortable in flip flops or tennis shoes running around Disneyland for 5+ hours. In this particular instance being comfortable outweighs looking cute. Trust us, you (and your feet) will thank us!
Helpful Tip 7. Keep your patience high and your expectations low. This is one of the things were are always telling people who visit any Disney Park but even more so on special events nights. Let everyone in your party pick out one thing they really want to do and check it off the list. Don't cave to the pressure of trying to see and do everything because it will make you more stressed and leave you disappointed. It's a great night with so many things to see, so do what you can and enjoy the ride!

DRESS UP
Come in costume! Dressing up is not a must, but it's the only time that adults can wear costumes at the Disney Parks so it's a really special and makes for unique and memorable photos. For the specific rules and guidelines refer to the

FREE PARKING
Your tickey includes complimentary parking for one vehicle.
EARLY ENTRY
With your Mickey’s Halloween Party ticket, you get to enter Disneyland Park three hours before the party begins. Why not get the magic started as soon as possible.
TRICK OR TREAT
Trick or Treating at nearly 50 locations throughout Disneyland Park filled with a variety of candy and healthy treats too. Sometimes you just have to ask for the baby carrots or apples instead of the sweets. We usually get a variety of healthy and not-so healthy because... Halloween!
MAIN STREET U.S.A.
New animated Halloween images projected on the buildings of Main Street U.S.A. There are pumpkins galore, and because it's all lit up the photos you can get of Main Street at night are awesome!
VILLAINS SQUARE
Make your way to Disneyland Town Square where you can "Party Like a Villain" with all of the "Bad Apple Party Crashers." Maleficent, Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil and more are all dying to meet you. Throughout the evening the transformation into Villains Square will be lead by a black horse-drawn carriage highlighted by special effects of fog, lighting and thunder. Totally spooky!
PAINT THE NIGHT PARADE
This year there will be a special Paint the Night Parade performance in honor of Disneyland 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration. if you've never seen it yet, it will remind you of the Main Street Electrical Parade of the past with an incredible makeover! It's truly spellbinding and a must-see!
HALLOWEEN SCREAMS FIREWORKS
See Oogie Boogie light up the night sky in the exclusive "Halloween Screams" fireworks spectacular hosted by Jack Skellington. He is the ultimate "Master of Scaremonies" after all. This show is literally worth the price of admission, it is so cool!
CHARACTERS IN COSTUME
Disney Characters will be dressed in their Halloween costumes which makes it special when taking photos with your favorite characters. With everyone in costume the images are really fun and anything but ordinary.
HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY
Jack Skellington makes his annual appearance in Disneyland to take over the Haunted Mansion and bring Haunted Mansion Holiday back to New Orleans Square. This year, for the first time, Jack is joined by a fearsome new friend, the Hatbox Ghost, who took up residence in the Mansion just as the Diamond Celebration was getting underway. Haunted Mansion Holiday is inspired by the classic animated film “Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas” and transforms the Mansion with a collision of Halloween spookiness and Christmas cheer.
SPACE MOUNTAIN GHOST GALAXY
The unique Halloween-themed experience launches voyagers into a haunted section of the universe, where ghosts appear out of the starry darkness and swirling galaxies of Space Mountain, reaching out as if to grab guests as they speed through space. The exhilarating drops and curves are punctuated by piercing screams, creepy sound effects and haunting music.
MYSTICAL SPIRITS OF THE BLUE BAYOU

Premium Halloween Dining Experience incuding a plated 3-course New Orleans dinner, live entertainment with Dr. Facilier himself, plus priority viewing of the Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular.
MONSTER U DANCE PARTY
Dance and sing with the entire family at Monsters U Dance Party. Mike, Sulley and the rest of the gang hang out in tomorrowland and can't wait to 'scare' you! Ain't no party like a Monster Party!
CADAVER DANS
The Dapper Dans don't come out at night, but we know who does... Cadaver Dans, everyone's favorite Disneyland quartet will perform Halloween tunes while drifting on a graveyard-themed raft on the Rivers of America in Frontierland at New Orleans Square.
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
A traditional skeleton display will once again be featured in Frontierland at Zocalo Park next to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in honor of Day of the Dead.
ANNUAL PASSHOLDERS AREA
An exclusive area for Passholders with special entertainment and treats. Spooky fun for everyone!
GET ON ALL THE RIDES
During this special event is a great time to get on the attractions. A lot of guests are busy trick-or-treating and meeting characters so the lines for most rides are shorter than usual. If candy isn't your thing you should really take advantage of it.
