Tangled Returns to El Capitan Theatre This Fall

Hollywood’s legendary El Capitan Theatre presents a special engagement of Disney’s “Tangled” Sept. 12 – Oct. 8, 2014. Before the movie, see Sofia from Disney’s “Sofia the First” live on stage plus a special glimpse of Disney Junior’s upcoming “Sofia the First: Curse of Princess Ivy.” Then after the movie, see Rapunzel live on stage followed by Disney’s “Tangled Ever After” short.

“‘Tangled’ introduced some of Disney’s most dynamic and iconic characters with a story that touched audiences around the world,” said Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. “This marks the first time the film will be seen at the El Capitan since it premiered in 2010, so we want to make it an event the whole family can enjoy. As Rapunzel says, ‘Best. Day. Ever!’"

Showtimes are at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), online at www.elcapitantickets.com, or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. Special group rates for parties of 20 or more are available by calling 1-818-845-3110. Showtimes subject to change.

On Sundays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m., all El Capitan Theatre guests will enjoy the Spanish language and 3D version of Disney’s “Tangled.”

On select dates, El Capitan guests may also enjoy breakfast and receive a commemorative photo with Rapunzel before the 10 a.m. movie. Seating is limited and reservations are required.

The El Capitan Theatre will also host Tiny Tot Tuesday every Tuesday at 10 a.m. During this special screening of Disney’s “Tangled,” parents and small children can enjoy the movie in a Tiny Tot-friendly way––complete with lights dimmed (rather than out) and reduced sound levels.

At Sunday’s 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows only, El Capitan guests can enhance their “Tangled” experience with “Rapunzel’s Tower Treasures,” which can be pre-ordered for an additional $10, while supplies last.

Happy Earth Day Friends!

We have a few plans to celebrate Earth Day.
First today, we will head over to our local Disney Store... have you heard???

Disney Store locations nationwide will host a plastic bottle recycling program called “Recycling is Magic.” To help educate children on the benefits of recycling, Disney Store is inviting everyone to bring in empty plastic bottles and toss them into a unique recycling bin. On April 22, while supplies last, guests can exchange three empty bottles for a free commemorative Earth Day reusable water bottle.

Recycling=free present from The Disney Store sounds like fun to me!

Next, my whole family will be going to see the movie Disneynature earth. Even Nick's 3rd grade class is going to see Earth together. Watch the trailer. For Tickets to The El Captian Theater call 1-800-Disney6 . Want to see Earth with your friends? Save 40% on a group of 20 or more at
The El Captian Theatre by calling (818) 845-3110.

Additionally, for every ticket sold for Earth during the first week of it’s release,
Disney will plant a tree in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, one of the most endangered rainforests in the world.
Plus- Wildlife experts showcase exotic animals from around the world, LIVE only on the
El Capitan Stage!!!

P.S. You can download Earth Educational materials for free at www.disney.com/earth. There is a super cool 8 page Earth activity guide and a 58 page Earth's educator's guide.

Places To Take The Kids For Spring Break (series)....Hannah Montana The Movie

Ever since we saw her first concert, Miley Cyrus won me over! She performs like a rock star singing her heart out and gives each show her all. And after meeting her, I was convinced Billy Ray's real talent is in raising his daughter... not singing or haircuts!!! I personally am excited to take Nick and his friends to see this kid flick. I am anticipating an "afterschool special" type of message. Wouldn't that be nice?

Here's a peek at the movie and the Let's Get Crazy music video.

As for where to see it... There's only one place to be*
I'm a big fan of The El Capitan Theatre...
You may remember as I've posted before.

*Side Note- Do you remember the Jonas Brothers Movie? Well, it played here and opening weekend they made a top secret live appearance before the movie to the "thrill" or should I say "shrill" of their fans.

This special theatre is a history lesson, Old Hollywood style. It's not just going to the movies it's an all day event. My son loves the "Hollywood Scene". I wonder where he gets it? All I have to do is say the word and he's ready to go in his coolest jeans. "How do I look Mom?", turned into "will you get me an agent?" Yes, he keeps asking. (I just might have to look into it)

Who Let The Dog's Out?

BOLT is Fully Awesome!!!
And Totally 3-D!!!

Calling all Moms!
In search of fun for the kids?
Need something to keep them busy during the winter break?
BOLT
has arrived at
THE EL CAPITAN THEATRE!
Bolt is the must see this holiday season, and at the El Capitan Theatre you will get an extra special treat! Not only is the movie in super cool Disney Digital 3-D, you will also see an all new live stage show. Disney's Holiday Spectacular, but you can only see it at the El Capitan Theatre.
As we headed off to the theatre in Hollywood, my son asked if we were going to the "real Hollywood". I realized that living in L.A. we take for granted things like Hollywood history. I sat up a little higher in the driver's seat and told Nick we were going to see something great! We were headed for an adventure and maybe we'd see a movie star!!! He spotted the stars on the sidewalk without prompting, and squealed with delight! As luck would have it, they were shooting on the street right across from the theatre, so we got to see all the lights, cameras and Jimmy Kimmel. It was very exciting to my 8 year old! I showed him the old style of the El Capitan ticket booth and the lights on the marquee are beautiful at night. There were ushers that helped us take our seats (another thing not recognized by kids these days). Disney songs were played by a live organist on the stage. Then the Christmas stage show began and the kids eyes lit up and so did mine, I love the parades at Disneyland and this is the same idea only here you have a really good seat! The whole gang were there, Mickey and Minnie, Buzz and Woody, Stitch and Pooh Bear and all the Princesses!!! What fun it was to get a high five from Goofy dressed as Santa as the show ends, the characters walk up the isles waving and blowing kisses.

The movie was incredible in 3-D, I felt like I was watching a James Bond movie. Check out the Totally action packed first scene! This is not the childhood Disney film we remember as kids. It's Disney on Red Bull, which is right up my family's alley. We munched our popcorn, which tastes much better in that neat Bolt pail (that you take home). From the moment he came on the screen, Rhino the hamster was the hands down favorite. The kids got the jokes and my sisters and I were rolling! (pun intended)
Rhino

The movie ends in Classic Disney fashion, with an Excellent feel good song
performed by Miley Sirus and John Travolta(here's the adorable video)
