Here's what some VIPs have to say about "Walk in the Park," the largest pediatric walk in the U.S.
“The Disneyland Resort has been a proud supporter of Children’s Hospital Orange County for the past 50 years. CHOC ‘Walk in the Park’ is a very special event for our Cast Members, and we look forward to hosting it for the 13th straight year.”
- Michael Colglazier, president of the Disneyland Resort.

“It’s spectacular to see thousands of people line Main Street, U.S.A. on an early Sunday morning to take steps – literally – in support of CHOC Children’s mission and vision. Participants from diverse backgrounds, including individuals, school teams and corporations, are joined together by a common bond. It’s a unique experience – thanks so much to our dear friends at the Disneyland Resort, and the tremendous show of support of our sponsors is a tribute to our community. This year’s event is particularly special, as our hospital celebrates our 50th anniversary.”
- Kimberly Chavalas Cripe, president and CEO, CHOC Children’s.

Who will you walk for?

In order to help CHOC reach its goal of providing quality healthcare to the region’s two million children (and beyond), CHOC Walkers must raise a minimum of $50 to participate in the Walk. Everyone can register at www.chocwalk.org and receive up-to-date event information from the CHOC Foundation on Facebook and Twitter.

Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort

Halloween Time has made it's way to So Cal, and it's going on now through October 31st at Disneyland Resort. Get ready to be dazzled in the most spook-tacular way!

My family and I just went to the Disneyland Resort this past weekend & had a pumpkin, er,  I mean ball. There are SO many festive sights, sounds and smells for the little ones and not so little ones. They really did an amazing job of getting us in the Halloween mood. Everywhere you look there are orange and black decor, pumpkins, fall leaves and more! If you have never been to Disneyland during Halloween Time, you really must go.

Also we will be attending MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY soon, so we will give you the low down on that too! (It's the separate ticketed event where kids and adults can dress up and trick-or-treat inside the park.)

  Halloween Time Highlights

  • Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland is transformed for the PUMPKIN FESTIVAL. More than 300 pumpkins will be on display in shop windows and none of them are the same!

  • Meeting Disney characters will be easier than ever as Disney villains gather to plot Halloween mischief at “it’s a small world” Mall in Disneyland, while other characters in spooky attire greet guests in Town Square, Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Special Halloween treats will be available in Disneyland, including menu items such as Zero’s Ghostly Ghoulash, served in a dog dish in honor of Zero.

  • Halloween Time gifts are offered in Disneyland Resort shops. Gifts include jack- o-lantern mouse ears and collectable pins depicting Mickey Mouse and his friends in Halloween costumes.

  • Jack Skellington also returns to take over the Haunted Mansion and bring back Haunted Mansion Holiday to New Orleans Square in Disneyland, inspired by “Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas.”
  • The "Haunted" version of Space Mountain aka Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. Ghosts appear out of the starry darkness and swirling galaxies of Space Mountain, reaching out as if to grab guests as they speed through space. The exhilarating drops and curves of the journey are punctuated by piercing screams, creepy sound effects and haunting music.
  • For spine-tingling fun, drop in at The Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure park, where a “supernatural” event happened on Halloween evening, 1939, forever haunting the building.

And don't forget to go VOTE for your favorite Disney Villian!
(as of today: MALEFICENT is in the lead)

Disney's World Of Color... MUST SEE!!!

"The world is a carousel of color,

Wonderful, wonderful color.

The world is a carousel of color,

-The Wonderful World of Color Lyrics

I was more than honored to be asked to attend a viewing of Disney's WORLD of COLOR on the very first night that it was open to the public. Thank you to Michele, you are my hero!

The Hottest Show of Summer is Disney's WORLD of COLOR, by far. As I sat there with my husband watching it (yes we left the kids at home) I was instantly transported to my childhood. Actually it was like taking a journey through my entire life, the life that has been filled with Disney memories. It just makes you realize how big a role Disney has played in my life. Through every year there has been a new movie, a new soundtrack made by Disney. Touching all of our hearts and lives.

We laughed, we cried, we sang along. As each new character showed up, everyone would oooh & ahhh. Some, like us, would cheer when their favorite came up. It was a surreal experience, where the audience sat spellbound & mesmerized! It was an amazing blend of water and fire. Ying and yang. Imagery blasted on the colorful water shooting up to the sky. (The show uses over 1200 fountains, that can shoot water up to 200 feet in the air. AMAZING!) There was something for the young and old. Even my husband said WOW when the Pirates scene came on with all of the Fire! And he's not easy to impress!

Some of my favorite Characters who make an appearance in the show: The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Princess and the Frog, Toy Story, Tinker Bell and UP. That's not even half of them.

It was such an excellent show, I've been dreaming about it ever since... Once you see it, you'll understand what I'm talking about! And if you have been lucky enough, please tell me what your favorite part of the show is! Can't wait to hear.

Mine, was where Eve & Wall-E dance across the starry sky, just like in the movie. That music & that scene got me all teary-eyed! CHILLS!

Here is a couple of minutes that I shot on my Flip, from some of my favorite parts of Disney's WORLD of COLOR Show at California Adventure. (Including Wall-E, Toy Story & UP)

DISNEY CONTEST:
You can also create your own “World of Color” video by JULY 12th and enter the contest for a chance to win a Disneyland Resort vacation, where you can experience WOC for yourself. It's just another fun summer activity from your friends at Disney!

*I was not paid for this post, I was generously given tickets to see the WOC show, and it blew my freakin' mind!*

History, comedy, fantasy,
There’s drama and mirth,
There’s old mother earth
With all of her secrets to see."
