Summer Bucket List at Disneyland Resort

10 Moments of Disney Magic you won't want to miss this Summer!

Summertime is one of the most popular times to visit Disneyland Resort and it's not hard to see why. The sun is shining, the palm trees are swaying in the breeze, and everyone is on summer vacation! Southern California is a paradise this time of year.

Our family loves coming to Disneyland in the hot summer months of summer because we ride on different attractions and get to see different shows. Not to mention the 60th Anniversary is coming to an end in September. We're trying to soak it all in before the last decor is taken down and the last piece of merchandise sells out! Nooooooo!!!

So whether you're planning a day trip to Disneyland Resort or a full vacation where you stay at one of the incredible Hotels on property, we've got a few tips and suggestions for you.

Here's a list of the top 10 things to do this summer at Disneyland Resort.

Frozen Live at the Hyperion
For the first time in forever... Frozen takes off right where Aladdin left off. An incredible Broadway quality show that literally gave us the chills! (Pun intended!) The sisters of Arendelle are wowing the crowd in this newest edition to Disney California Adventure Park.

Soarin' Around the World
Take an exciting journey around the world in the new rebooted version of Soarin'. What used to be a trip around California, has been transformed into a trip around the world. Catch sights of Sydney Harbor in Australia, the Matterhorn in Switzerland, and an incredible view of The Great Wall of China. This is one trip you don't want to miss!

World of Color Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney
This symphony of animated water, fire, color and light is hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and is a dazzling tribute to the Wonderful World of Walt Disney. This water spectacular is extraordinary and is not to be missed! It's really like nothing you've ever seen before!

Disneyland Forever Fireworks
How they keep out-doing themselves each time they create a new Fireworks show is beyond us. But Disneyland Forever is the best one yet! They have added so many incredible elements to the show, like Main Street U.S.A. and Matterhorn Mountain are now all apart of the Fireworks Spectacular. It will WOW your whole family!

Paint the Night
Catch the most electrifying show at Disneyland while you still can! Paint the Night Parade is like Main Street Electrical Parade on steroids! This is our new favorite show. It lights up the parade route, and lights up the hearts of all who watch it!

Splash Mountain
When the summer sun heats up, hop on this hilarious log ride in Critter Country. You'll see some of your old friends, classic Disney characters from Country Bear Jamboree. One thing's for sure, you'll find your laughing place on this animated ride that gets you wet!

Grizzly River Run
Get ready to get soaked. Like all the way down to your unmentionables wet. These roaring rapids are so much fun to ride on a hot summer day! You will walk out of there feeling like you just took a shower... With your clothes on!!!

Star Wars Launch Bay
Get your fill and totally geek out on all things Star Wars. From costumes to merchandise, it's a Star Wars fans ultimate place to hang out. (And cool off during summer.) You can meet and take selfies with the likes of Chewbacca, Kylo Ren and Boba Fett. Use the Force and don't miss the Launch Bay!

Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters
This is the attraction that took the place of the old Luigi's tire ride. Step into one of the adorable cars straight out of the film Cars. These rockin' roadsters really know how to move. They dance and groove in perfect synchronization.

Adult Beverage
Sometimes there's nothing better than having a cold drink to cool off on a warm summer's day at the Park. Disneyland Park does not serve alcohol, but here's a tip - California Adventure Park does! You can get a glass of wine, a frosty margarita or an ice cold brew. Cheers to the 21+ magic!

We hope you've enjoyed reading our tips for Summer at Disneyland Resort have helped to give you a few ideas. What is on your Disney Bucket List this summer?

Disclosure: We were invited to experience Summer at Disneyland Resort during Family Media Day. We were given tickets, fastpasses to certain rides, and a swag bag full of summer goodies. As always the opinions on this blog are 100% Disney Sisters and 100% magical. Thank you for reading our blog! We appreciate you!

Where all of the ladies and gents get all gussied up and hit the parks to show off their best vintage looks at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. We’ve been to Dapper Day many times before, it's a delightful way to experience the Parks. Check out some of our favorite fashions of previous events.

Friday September 12,
Disneyland Resort, California

Saturday September 20,
Disneyland Parc, Paris, France

Saturday September 27,

What is Dapper Day?
Started in February 2011, DAPPER DAY organizes fashionable gatherings held twice a year (spring and fall) at the Disney Resorts in LA, Orlando, and Paris (autumn event only). These “Dapper Day” events include a “DAPPER DAY at the Parks” with informal in-park meet-ups, and other happenings outside the parks such as our DAPPER DAY Styling Suite, And our DAPPER DAY Boutique (in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel) and our official after party FOLLY in Downtown Disney Anaheim.

DAPPER DAY Events celebrate the tradition of wanting to look one’s best while out in public, and embraces the great social interaction that results when every outfit welcomes a compliment. Our events are neither a strict period recreation of the past nor a costume event (there are many other gatherings for that). Dapper Day Events are meant to showcase you at your best, and all manner of elegant attire is encouraged from vintage-inspired classics to chic contemporary looks. Active and retired military are encouraged to wear your dress blues if you like.

It’s the fashion of yesteryear mixed with the Disney Parks of today.
It’s genius.
It’s a lot of fun.
It’s a must-do for Disney fans.

For more fun please visit the Dapper Day website. Follow Dapper Day on TwitterInstagram, and Facebook, or join the email list to get all the invites. Follow along with the the hashtag #DapperDay.

Photo Fun at Disney California Adventure and #DisneySMMoms

Professional photographer Tracey Clark (and first born Disney Sister) is always saying, it's not about how fancy the camera you are using is, it's about learning how to get the best results with what you've got. AMEN Sister! We don't know about you, but it we've always got our iPhones in our hands (or back pockets) at the Disney Parks ready to shoot at moments notice. Doesn't everybody?

We're celebrating the Disney Social Media On The Road Events this summer and sharing some of our favorite photos taken at Disney California Adventure. Since the update of Buena Vista Street and Cars Land this park creates one heck of a backdrop to shoot amazing images. Like SERIOUS Magic, don't you agree?

The Iconic Shot
When you think of Disney California Adventure Park the attraction that comes to mind is the iconic Mickey's Fun Wheel. It's big, bright, and has that loveable mouse face on it. Add in the reflection in the water and you've got one magical shot. Say cheese! (See what we did there?)

On A Ride
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is the perfect attraction for all ages. Take in glorious wilderness sights and embark on exciting adventures along the pathway to capture great photos of your family. Although you may have to look up (way up) to find them!

Sweet Treat
Nothing could be sweeter than enjoying a sweet treat at any of the Disney Parks. No matter what delicious snack you choose, (Churro!) (Dole Whip!) we bet it will be easier to capture more smiles from the family. Cruising down Buena Vista Street with a lollipop in hand - Life is GOOD!

Timeless
The beauty about shooting black and white at the Parks is the vintage feel that it creates. This shot looks like it could have been taken 50 years ago, but actually it was taken on our last trip to Disney California Adventure. You'd also never known that it wasn't shot on film, instead it with an iPhone edited in Instagram. The best part is that you can shoot in color and edit your photos into black and white later.

Night Shots
Sure you can get your kicks at Route 66 during the day, but at night this park lights up with style! Cars Land is a visual wonderland, to take in while the neon signs glow and the vivid colors light up the night sky. It's incredible to see in person and is stunning to photograph.

How Disney California Adventure Celebrates the Holidays #DisneyHolidays (Video)

We are in the middle of December and the holidays are in full swing! There's still plenty of time to visit the Disneyland Resort and experience the magic of Disney Holidays. It's the most wonderful time of the year to go to any of the Disney Parks. It's definitely a family tradition for us - and we highly recommend it.

Take a few minutes to watch as Disney California Adventure Park has been transformed for the holiday including highlights such as Christmas in Cars Land, Buena Vista Street and Disney's Viva! Navidad. (Interview with Santa coming soon!)

Disney Infinity Characters Go To Disneyland

What would happen if your favorite characters from Disney Infinity went on vacation?

Where would they go?
What would they do?
Would they go on rides?
What would they eat?

Well you no longer have to wonder...

We just so happened to tag along recently when Mike Wazowski, Sulley and some other of the Disney Infinity Characters went on the ultimate guy's trip to the Disneyland Resort. See photos of them dining, riding attractions, hanging with other Characters, and lounging by Disney's Grand Californian pool. These monsters really know how to vacay in style!

To see the rest of the photos go check out the post, to see the magic that happens when
Disney Infinity Characters Take a Disney Vacation!
Can you spot them at the Parks?

Important: Changes to the Disney Disability Pass at Disney Parks

A new program is coming to Disney Parks for guests and families with disabilities on October 9, 2013. More details about the new Disability Access Service (DAS) Card program are coming soon but until then, here is some information via Disney Parks:
We would like to share an upcoming change in the Guest Assistance Card.  Disney has an unwavering commitment to making our experiences accessible to all Guests.  After careful consideration, we will be replacing the Guest Assistance Card with the new Disability Access Service Card on Oct. 9 to create a more consistent experience for all our Guests while providing accommodations for Guests with disabilities. Until Oct. 9, we will continue to use Guest Assistance Cards. We look forward to sharing more information about the Disability Access Service Card as we get closer to implementation.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How will the new Disney program work?
The Disability Access Service Card will offer Guests a return time for an attraction based on the current wait time. Guest Assistance Cards will continue to be in effect until Oct. 9. We look forward to sharing more information as we get closer to implementation.

Did Disney receive assistance in developing the Disability Access Service Card?
Yes, Disney is engaging disability groups, and Autism Speaks was instrumental in providing feedback as we developed this new process.

Why is Disney making these changes?
Given the increasing volume of requests Disney receives for special access to our attractions, we are changing our process beginning Oct. 9 so that it creates a more consistent experience for all our Guests while providing accommodations for Guests with disabilities.

Who will be eligible for a Disability Access Service Card?
Our goal is to accommodate Guests who aren't able to wait in a conventional queue environment due to a disability (including non-apparent disabilities).

Will Guests on wish trips also use Disability Access Service Cards?
No. Guests who are visiting through wish-granting organizations will have access through a separate program.

What should Guests do if they have concerns?
Guests should contact Guest Relations to discuss their assistance needs.

A Magical Brew: Starbucks is Coming to Disneyland

Here's an equation for you Disneyland + Starbucks = A Magical Brew.
We've been really enjoying having our fancy Starbucks coffee while walking down Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure Park, check out this cute couple enjoying the evening there during Dapper Day 2013.

GOOD NEWS!
Disney Parks Blog has just announced that Disneyland will also be adding a Starbucks. It will be built inside Market House and you can get yourself a Carmel Macchiato or whatever your favorite drink of choice is starting this fall. Just in time for all of those yummy holiday drinks... Pumpkin Spice Latte anyone?

Every time we go to Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe there is a line, which is no different from any other location in the rest of the world. But by far, the best part about getting a coffee at the Happiest Place on Earth has to be the cups. They are personalized just for Disney! Tinker Bell, along with the Castle, Mickey, Minnie shapes (& more) are on the cup with a sprinkling of Pixie Dust! We think that a hot beverage tastes even better when drinken from these magical cups. (Proven fact amongst Disney Geeks) Market House closes next month, and when it reopens it will, "still be themed as a turn-of-the-century general store, serving Starbucks products and a selection of specialty Disney pastries" says Disney Parks. But there is a downside, since they will no longer be serving Disney branded coffee, they will no longer be offering free refills. As for us, we're just looking forward to ordering our "usuals."

White Chocolate Mocha
(Sometimes Decaf)

Soy Vanilla Latte
(No Whip - Extra Hot)

Tracey
Spiced Carmel Apple Cider
(w/ Whipped Cream)

Hidden Mickey: The cast members also draw Mickey Ears on your cup when they write your name while you order. (see above) How cool is that?

Disney Candy Canes: More than your average Holiday Treat

At first glance, we had no idea what these Cast Members were doing while window shopping on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure the other night. We knew they made treats at Trolley Treats but didn't realize we were about to watch the process that many have heard about, but few have witnessed. The magical process of making the legendary Disney Candy Canes. This has been a special holiday tradition at the Candy Palace in  Disneyland for many years, and now Disney is continuing that tradition over at DCA

You can find the 2012 Candy Cane selling schedule along with some tips on Disney Food Blog. If you want to know the Disneyland Candy Cane history of these seasonal celebrities they have that too. They cost $12.99 this year.

We have never tasted a Candy made at Disneyland or Disney California Adventure but we are really curious to know what they are like. Tell us, have you stood in the long lines, and purchased the famous Disney Candy Canes? This may be the year that we get our hands on one, now that would be SWEET!

Disney December to Remember: Elf

Elf

There's something about small little men with pointy ears that says the holidays are here! And we can't think of two more cuter elves than these guys. Lanny and Wayne, better known as two of Santa's Elite Task Force: Prep and Landing. While they aren't getting homes all across the country ready for Santa, they can be seen at Disney California Adventure in the 4D Showing of Prep and Landing: Naughty vs. Nice.
