Disney Sisters: Give the Gift of Magic: A D23 Membership

Give the Gift of Magic: A D23 Membership

Are you wondering what gift to get this holiday season for the Disney Fan in your life who has everything? A picture of us in a frame holding an Oscar won by a Disney Film? Yeah, that'd be pretty cool, but you know what would be even more cool? How about a membership to D23: the Official Disney Fan Club? Give the gift of magic that keeps on giving 365 days of the year!

For those of you who still aren't sure about what D23 is: "D23 is “The Official Community for Disney Fans” — the first of its kind in the Company’s 85-year history. From our enchanting theme parks to our legendary animation studio, Disney is known for having a deep-rooted respect for the wonderful legacy we’ve built through the years and the creativity that continues to take us to new heights. But one of the most important parts of that fantastic legacy is our fans. To thank all of our fans, we have created D23 with its one-of-a-kind experiences, special events, collectibles, quarterly publication, Web site, and opportunities to meet others who share the same affection and fascination for Disney. D23 offers fans an insider peek at every corner of Disney, from the Parks, animation and stage shows to television and film to the treasures of the legendary Walt Disney Archives."

We were recently invited to the Walt Disney Studios to hear all about the D23 happenings that are planned for the upcoming year, and it all sounds pretty amazing!  We heard from the head of D23 Steven Clark who told us all about the 2012 members only events including:

  • Smoke Tree Ranch Roundup: January 23-25, 2012
  • Journey to Marceline: March 14, 2012 (A special visit to the hometown of Walt Disney)
  • D23 Film Series: 50 & Fabulous and From The Vaults (Screenings of various Disney movies)
  • D23 Fanniversary Events: Dates TBA (Taking place all across the US (including Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Palm Springs, New York, and more!)
  • Destination D - 75 Years of Disney Feature Animation: August 1-12, 2012
  • Walt Disney Studios Tours: Feb 11-12, April 28-29, Sept 8-9, Nov 10-11
  • And don't forget the D23 Expo: Coming in 2013 (The convention where all things Disney come together under one roof)
  • Look for even more D23 Events to be announced throughout the year!
Did you know that becoming a member & going to one of their special events (fees apply) is the only way to get a tour of the Walt Disney Studios, and visit the Walt Disney Archives? BTW - SO WORTH IT! PS: We fully believe in gifting to yourself as well as others, we think a D23 membership is a fantastic thing to treat yourself to during the holidays.

Here are some of our favorite shots that we took while we were on our Studio Tour. Enjoy!

Here are some of the treasured items we saw while visiting The Walt Disney Archives:

We also met some VIP guests at our day on the lot which we will be sharing with you in future posts, so stay tuned! You will not believe your ears! Hint: they were LEGENDARY!

One of the main reasons that people, like us are so drawn to The Walt Disney Company is because Disney fans are more then just a random group of people who like the same brand, we're like old friends. And when you join the club, you are more then just a member, you're like family. For us, you know it's all about family!

Disney Sisters would like to thank Steven, Laura, Becky, Lisa, John, Jeffrey, and Tim for allowing us to experience the magic from behind the scenes. It was truly a day we will always treasure in our memories. All of you from the D23 team are such shining examples of The Walt Disney Company. Congrats on the success of "The Official Fan Club." We look forward to your magical future!

  1. OMG! How could is that?! A tour of both the Studio and the Archives. Great pics too. Nice shot of Walt's biz card.

By the way, did Steven Clark (or anyone else) mention if anything special is being planned for the 75th anniversary of Snow White in 2012?
