Disney Enchanted Tales: New Disney Princess App for Mobile

When Disney Interactive requests your presence at a Royal Tea Party at the Disney Creative Campus, you put on your fancy ears and jump at the chance. What a magical way to learn all about the newest kingdom-building game, Disney Enchanted Tales which happens to be available for download on your mobile device now. Yay!

We're always excited when a new Disney game launches and this one is no different. Being able to play out some of our favorite Princess stories with Disney characters that we know and love including Belle, Gaston, Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, etc. Yassssss! Just look at these faces, aren't they adorable? New characters, outfits and memorable story moments from additional cherished Disney classic tales will be unlocked as players complete story-based missions. So the game will continue to grow and change with players.

In this enchanting and whimsical game, you can create custom kingdoms using familiar landmarks and buildings from “Beauty and The Beast,” “Frozen” and “Tangled. You can expand and build out your kingdoms by completing tasks and quests. The quicker you do that, the faster you can earn new iconic landmarks, such as Belle’s Bookstore, The Beast’s Castle, Elsa’s Ice Palace, Rapunzel’s Tower and more.

We've been having a ball playing and are already on level 7. My daughter Kaia is still really enjoying playing the game. We are actually having a lot of fun building it together and customizing our space. There's so much to do and build, it's constantly prompting players to try new things for coins, stars and diamonds. You're going to want as many of those three items as you can get. It's how you can expand your fairytale land to unlock more characters and stories.

Here are some of our actual screenshots from while were playing:

Warning: Like many other Disney Mobile Apps, you may find yourself becoming addicted. I'm looking at you Disney Emoji Blitz.

Disclosure: We were invited to an event to learn about the game and get a chance to play it to help further this review. We received a bag of goodies, but no other compensation was provided. The opinions on this blog are 100% magical and 100% the Disney Sisters only.

Summer Bucket List at Disneyland Resort

10 Moments of Disney Magic you won't want to miss this Summer!

Summertime is one of the most popular times to visit Disneyland Resort and it's not hard to see why. The sun is shining, the palm trees are swaying in the breeze, and everyone is on summer vacation! Southern California is a paradise this time of year.

Our family loves coming to Disneyland in the hot summer months of summer because we ride on different attractions and get to see different shows. Not to mention the 60th Anniversary is coming to an end in September. We're trying to soak it all in before the last decor is taken down and the last piece of merchandise sells out! Nooooooo!!!

So whether you're planning a day trip to Disneyland Resort or a full vacation where you stay at one of the incredible Hotels on property, we've got a few tips and suggestions for you.

Here's a list of the top 10 things to do this summer at Disneyland Resort.

Frozen Live at the Hyperion
For the first time in forever... Frozen takes off right where Aladdin left off. An incredible Broadway quality show that literally gave us the chills! (Pun intended!) The sisters of Arendelle are wowing the crowd in this newest edition to Disney California Adventure Park.

Soarin' Around the World
Take an exciting journey around the world in the new rebooted version of Soarin'. What used to be a trip around California, has been transformed into a trip around the world. Catch sights of Sydney Harbor in Australia, the Matterhorn in Switzerland, and an incredible view of The Great Wall of China. This is one trip you don't want to miss!

World of Color Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney
This symphony of animated water, fire, color and light is hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and is a dazzling tribute to the Wonderful World of Walt Disney. This water spectacular is extraordinary and is not to be missed! It's really like nothing you've ever seen before!

Disneyland Forever Fireworks
How they keep out-doing themselves each time they create a new Fireworks show is beyond us. But Disneyland Forever is the best one yet! They have added so many incredible elements to the show, like Main Street U.S.A. and Matterhorn Mountain are now all apart of the Fireworks Spectacular. It will WOW your whole family!

Paint the Night
Catch the most electrifying show at Disneyland while you still can! Paint the Night Parade is like Main Street Electrical Parade on steroids! This is our new favorite show. It lights up the parade route, and lights up the hearts of all who watch it!

Splash Mountain
When the summer sun heats up, hop on this hilarious log ride in Critter Country. You'll see some of your old friends, classic Disney characters from Country Bear Jamboree. One thing's for sure, you'll find your laughing place on this animated ride that gets you wet!

Grizzly River Run
Get ready to get soaked. Like all the way down to your unmentionables wet. These roaring rapids are so much fun to ride on a hot summer day! You will walk out of there feeling like you just took a shower... With your clothes on!!!

Star Wars Launch Bay
Get your fill and totally geek out on all things Star Wars. From costumes to merchandise, it's a Star Wars fans ultimate place to hang out. (And cool off during summer.) You can meet and take selfies with the likes of Chewbacca, Kylo Ren and Boba Fett. Use the Force and don't miss the Launch Bay!

Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters
This is the attraction that took the place of the old Luigi's tire ride. Step into one of the adorable cars straight out of the film Cars. These rockin' roadsters really know how to move. They dance and groove in perfect synchronization.

Adult Beverage
Sometimes there's nothing better than having a cold drink to cool off on a warm summer's day at the Park. Disneyland Park does not serve alcohol, but here's a tip - California Adventure Park does! You can get a glass of wine, a frosty margarita or an ice cold brew. Cheers to the 21+ magic!

We hope you've enjoyed reading our tips for Summer at Disneyland Resort have helped to give you a few ideas. What is on your Disney Bucket List this summer?

Disclosure: We were invited to experience Summer at Disneyland Resort during Family Media Day. We were given tickets, fastpasses to certain rides, and a swag bag full of summer goodies. Disney Emoji Blitz: Our New Favorite Disney App

Just in time for World Emoji Day, Disney Interactive has just released Disney Emoji Blitz and now texting will never be the same.

We've got the scoop on the hottest E-Ticket in town! It's the newest in a long line of magical apps including some of our favorites like Disney Tsum Tsum, Frozen Free Fall, and Disney Dream Treats. From the start you have the choice of three emojis to play with Sulley who roars, Ariel who blows bubbles and Simba who just can't wait to be King! Each character has a magical power and it's up to you to find out what that is. LOL. The second emoji you'll earn is Mickey Mouse - a true classic! The best part about it is once an adorable emoji is collected within the game, it is also unlocked on the Disney Emoji Blitz keyboard, which can be used to send Disney and Pixar emojis to your friends and family! YASSS!

Here's more information about the emojis from straight from Disney Interactive:
The magic of Disney combines with the modern expression of emojis in Disney Emoji Blitz, a game for mobile devices where players can collect and play with hundreds of Disney and Pixar emojis. Disney Emoji Blitz is the first mobile game connected to a custom keyboard and features more than 400 emojis of Disney and Pixar characters, including favorites from “The Little Mermaid,” “The Lion King,” “Cinderella,” “Frozen,” “Finding Dory,” “The Muppets,” “Toy Story” and more.

And more about the match game from Disney Interactive:
A fast-paced match-3 game, Disney Emoji Blitz lets players match emojis to score points and unlock new Disney and Pixar emojis. Each emoji collected blasts the board with expressive power-ups like icing away emojis with Elsa from “Frozen” or scaring emojis with Sulley from “Monsters Inc.” Players complete missions to boost the score and earn prizes such as rare Disney Parks-themed Mickey Premium Bar, Matterhorn and Mickey Mouse Ear Hat emojis.

Disney Emoji Blitz is now available to download for free with in-app purchases on the App Store and Google Play. New Disney and Pixar-themed emojis will be added in the coming months

Doing Disney Without Kids (is Awesome)

Earlier this month we (just us three sisters) were fortunate enough to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort. We’re west coast-Disneyland girls so anytime we get an opportunity to head east (only having been a few times), we are pretty ecstatic. Unlike our past trips, this time we made a collective decision to make it a sisters-only trip. Admittedly, it wasn’t the popular decision with our families BUT sometimes it’s a call you have to make. Needless to say, we had the trip of a lifetime. Between all the magic that the #DisneySMMC provides and the fact that we were kid free (no offense to our amazing children) our entire trip was practically perfect in every way.

All of that said, there were a number of things we excitedly experienced and thoroughly enjoyed that would have likely not been the case if we had been traveling with our kids. Looking back now, it almost feels like a dream. It was THAT dreamy.  If and when you ever consider taking a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort without your kids, here’s just a few things you might want to consider:

Take Pictures (of things other than your kids)
There are so many amazing things to photograph at any of the Disney Resorts. From larger than life landscapes to the tiniest of Disney details, going on your own personal photo walk, through the parks (without any agenda but to shoot) is one of the most enjoyable of experiences ever.

Play with Creative Apps (because playing is fun)
Our new favorite photo app to use is Boomerang and there is no better place to play with that app than at Disneyland. I mean, how fun! We can't even! When you're on your own (without the kids) you can take the time you need to focus on trying something new which can make your mobile phone photography feel like play.
Pin Trade (for YOU)
Pin trading is fun with the kids, for sure! But when you trade just for YOU, you get to score the pins you really want. It's a fun way to coax out your own inner-kid. Remember her?
Shop (browse in any store you want for as long as you want)
So often the most enjoyable part of shopping, is just the browsing. And when you've got kids in tow, there's not a lot of time (or patience) for browsing. We took advantage of our time on trip and browsed in any and every store that tickled our fancy. We may or may not have bought a few Dooney & Bourke bags.

Tour Hotels (because awesome)
We're pretty sure our kids wouldn't appreciate being dragged from the Parks to spend time strolling around and exploring the Resort Hotels, so doing it on our sisters-only trip was an enjoyable (and relaxing) way to spend some grow-up time.
Drink (cheers)
No kids. No driving. No explanation necessary.
Enjoy Restaurant Meals (at a leisurely pace)
We had the most enjoyable, leisurely meals ever on our trip. Don't get us wrong, we love a good corn dog from a stand but, having the opportunity to slow down and savor both the atmosphere and the delicious food only made our time together more special and memorable.
Eat Sweet Treats (anytime, day or night)
Sweets on a Disney trip are a given but as with most things with kids, we try to be examples of moderation and timeliness. The best part of traveling with kids to the Disney Parks is that you don't have to curb your cravings. If you want to try every dessert at Epcot, you go! If you want ice cream for breakfast, just do it. Anything goes when it's adults only. No guilt. And there's no sharing required.

Stay Up Late (YOLO)
Without bed times to consider, you've got every freedom imaginable! Watch all the fireworks. Close the park down. Don't sleep! When you're with your grown-up friends or family, you've got lots of chatting and laughing to do. Even if it's until the wee hours of the morning. Who cares! You're not going to wake anyone up. Except maybe your neighbors! Which reminds us, sorry neighbors, we had some serious sister time we were catching up on.

Although we were busy following the schedule and activities of the conference itself (which was awesome!), we still had plenty of time to stroll, savor, get silly and reconnect. It was an amazing trip! If you ever get the chance to do Disney with your sisters, your friends, your partner, without the kids, we highly recommend it. Or maybe you already have traveled as adults to a Disney Resort. If so, we’d love to hear about it! What was your favorite part?

Disclaimer: We were invited to Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World Resort where we paid a conference fee that included accommodations and some meals on the conference dates.

The Ultimate Rainy Day Guide to Disneyland Resort

When you think of planning a trip to Disneyland Resort we're pretty sure that you don't think of dealing with rain. It doesn't rain in Southern California very often, but when it does it can pour down in a hurry. If you happen to be in Southern California on a Disney Vacation and rain appears in the forecast, don't fear! Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are open rain or shine and there is still plenty of fun to be had at the 'Happiest Place on Earth!'

Believe it or not, there are actually many good reasons to go to Disneyland during the rain. The crowds are usually down, the lines are short, and the photos opportunities are unique and beautiful. Many locals love it when it rains for exactly these reasons.

So whether it's a light drizzle or a full-blown El Niño storm...
Here's our best tips for surviving Disneyland Resort in the rain.

Dress Accordingly.
Layers. Extra Socks. Change of clothes (at least for kids.) Ponchos. Hoodies. Raincoats. Even trash bags. You can shop ahead of time (before your trip) to save money, but if the rain fall is unexpected rest assured that you can purchase all rainy day merchandise at the parks. Bring an umbrella. Especially if your little one has a Disney Umbrella, the photos with them holding them through out the park will be priceless. Then when the rain stops you can rent a locker to put all of the rainy day items in, so you don't have to carry them around the parks.

Grab a Hot Drink.
There are currently 3 Starbucks locations at Disneyland Resort, so take advantage of it and grab some coffee, tea, coco, vanillas or cider. Market House, Fidler Fifer and Practical Cafe, and Downtown Disney District by the Tram exit. Get warmed up from the inside out!

Visit an Art Gallery.
Inside the Opera House on Main Street, U.S.A. is an enchanting display of art and Disney history at the Disney Gallery . You never know what treasures you will find because there are seasonal exhibits showcasing artwork and renderings from Disney artists and Disney Imagineers.

Get a History Lesson.
Now would be the perfect time to see all of the attractions and shows that you might normally skip on a sunny day. There's plenty of dry seats at the Opera House at The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

Take in a Movie.
Step into the Main Street Cinema, to see six great Walt Disney cartoons starring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and more! Check out these vintage black & whites that you've probably never seen before. There are no seats (standing room only) but it's still a great hiding place from the shower outside. Lights! Camera! Action!

Use the Force.
With the new Season of the Force in Tomorrowland there are many galactic ways to stay on the 'Dry Side' but none better then at Star Wars Launch Bay. Visit the Tomorrowland Theater to see Star Wars: Path of the Jedi, ride Star Tours - The Adventure Continues and Hyperspace Mountain.

Hang out with Super Heroes.
Head over to Marvel Super Hero HQ, (located directly above Star Wars Launch Bay) to meet your favorite heroes like Spider-Man and Thor, virtually suit up as Iron Man, and play video games. A super place to stay super dry!

Shoot lots of pictures.
When the ground gets wet there are beautiful opportunities to see reflections in the puddles. And nothing beats a stormy, moody sky as the perfect backdrop for the iconic castle or colorful balloons. You may want to bring a small towel to keep your lens dry, and also some small ziploc bags to protect your smartphone.

Catch a Show.
Want to sit down and take a break from the sprinkles while at Disneyland Park? There are many great shows that will keep you entertained and dry. See the Princesses in Fantasy Faire's Royal Theatre, listen to the Tiki Birds sing at Enchanted Tiki Room or The Golden Horse Shoe is always good for a laugh.

Talk to the Animals.
Swim into Turtle Talk with Crush and have the chance to interact in the most excellent way with the funny dude from Finding Nemo. This is a great 15 minute conversation perfect for staying dry, under the sea. It's located inside the Disney Animation Building in Disney California Adventure one of the driest places in the Park.

Learn to Draw.
Most people have no idea that you can actually take an art class taught by a Disney Artist at Disney California Adventure. Head over to the Animation Academy in Hollywood Land and learn how to draw some of your favorite Disney animated characters.

Watch out for Bugs.
Get out from the rain and crawl underground to see how the creepy, crawly things live. It's Tough To Be a Bug show is located inside "a bug's land" where you can become an honorary bug with your host Flik.

Soup it Up.
One of our favorite meals at Disneyland Resort when it is cold and wet (even when it's not) is soup in a bread bowl. There's nothing like the Clam Chowder, Gumbo, or Corn Chowder for a delicious meal at the Parks. We also recommend Walt's Chili or the Jambalaya. These hot soups and stews are sure to warm you up and fill you up when you need it most. These delicious soups are served at multiple places through out the parks, check out Disney Dining to see where to get yours.

Retail Therapy.
If all else fails... Go shopping! There is nothing that will take your mind off the bad weather more then going from store to store on Main Street, Buena Vista Street and even at Downtown Disney District. SO.MANY.SHOPS. Our favorite is probably the World of Disney, the biggest Disney Store of them all. Just think of all the early holiday shopping that you could get out of the way!

Or You Could Take A Different Approach.
Of course, our idea on a rainy day would be to stay as dry as possible, but some may take the opposite approach. As in, what's the harm in riding the water rides especially if you are already wet and heading back to your hotel room? This just might be the perfect time to make a stop at Splash Mountain or Grizzly River Run. You'll probably be able to walk right on to either of them and that poncho you're wearing would sure come in handy!

One Last Thing.
We couldn't leave you to head out in the rain without giving up a secret location... The very best spot for hiding out and getting warm in the entire Disneyland Resort has got to be sitting on a rocking chair, in front of the fire, listening to the piano, inside the lobby of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. Trust us, it's the perfect spot for drying off and warming up.

*Please keep in mind that any of the rides, attractions and shows may or may not be working. So plan accordingly and check to see which of your favorites are on the refurbishment list during your visit by visiting the Disneyland Resort website.

Disclosure: We were invited to Disneyland Resort as members of the media and gifted a bag of rainy day supplies. As always the opinions on this blog are 100% Disney Sisters and 100% magical. Thank you for reading our blog! We appreciate you!
