We were asked to share our thoughts & experiences of our “Everyday Heroes” in celebration of the release of Disney’s “Planes Fire & Rescue.” This is a sponsored post however, all opinions are our own.
We come from a long line of everyday heroes in our family. Our parents and grandparents include members of the Military, Police Officer, President of the PTA, Race Car Driver, Judge, and a Fire Chief. When it comes to raising our children, we try to instill the same beliefs and values that have been passed down to us through the generations. Well, we are happy to say that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. There are so many ways to make a difference in this world, and it takes all types of unique character traits to achieve success. We encourage our kids to stand up for what they believe in, overcome obstacles, and help others at all times.
Meet our very own everyday heroes and the special qualities they possess:
Determination
Compassion
Kaia has a deep love for animals. She shows kindness and compassion for dogs while volunteering at the local pet rescue center. She makes a difference in the lives of the less fortunate four-legged friends, one belly rub at a time.
Courage
Iris has the heart of a true performer and despite the all the risks of being on stage in front of people—a vulnerability not many choose to experience—she truly shines! Whether she’s dancing, acting, or singing, she’s courageously charismatic and inspires the audience (and us) with every show.
Respect
Strength
Taylar has incredible strength and drive when it comes to getting what she wants. She sets a goal and goes after it with all of her might. By using her strengths to her advantage, there is no stopping her. Girl Power!
Leader
Team Player
Nick is constantly working towards the good of the team by putting others first. By not only working hard and playing hard on his own, but also with the entire team to achieve greatness as a unit. He is an important part of any group he joins.
It takes a special kind of person to be an everyday hero.
It takes a special kind of plane to be a firefighter.
Enter Dusty Crophopper, the rookie who will risk everything for the good of the others. Total hero material! In true Disney fashion, "Planes: Fire and Rescue" takes us on a high-flying adventure and tells a story about a rookie who joins the forest and fire rescue unit in Piston Peak National Park. Dusty finds himself injured at the beginning of this story and has to change his career, but soon finds another calling in aerial firefighting and an exciting new journey takes flight. With a hilarious new cast of characters on the ground and in the air, Dusty will have you routing for this unlikely everyday hero. Disney storytelling at it’s best filled with exciting adventure, a determined underdog, and lots of humor. One thing we love about Disney, is how they find a way to keep us parents just as entertained as our kids, fun for the entire family!
Just in time for the holidays, you can bring home your own copy perfect for family movie night. Disney’s “Planes Fire & Rescue” landing on Blu-ray and Digital HD on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Also on DisneyMoviesAnywhere.com.
