Disneyland 24 Hour Party: Rock Your Disney Side #DisneySide

The "Rock Your Disney Side" 24 Hour Party is less than a week away. We'll be at the Disneyland Resort bright and early, May 23 as Disney Parks kicks off summer with the 24-hour celebration and all-nighter in the parks. The big kick-off starts at 6am in the Esplanade between the two parks. We are excited to experience all of the magic that 24 hours at the Disney Parks can bring. We can't guarantee how long we will last, but we do promise to report back to you with the photos, video, and our experiences at this one-of-a-kind event! What better way to kick off the summer, than to party at the happiest place on earth? Want to know the very best part... You're ALL invited! (Valid theme park admission is required.)

General Event Details:

Hours of operation for the event will take place from 6:00 AM, May 23, 2014 to 6:00 AM, May 24, 2014.
Only select attractions, entertainment and services will be available.
Valid theme park admission is required.
Event is subject to restrictions and change without notice.
Make sure to join the fun by using the hashtag #DisneySide on all social media platforms.

Costume Details:

Costumes should be child-friendly and adhere to any guidelines determined by Disney.
Costumes should not be obstructive, offensive or violent; drag on the ground; contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest; contain any weapons or objects which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
Masks may be worn, but they must not obstruct vision, and eyes must be visible at all times.
Guests who dress like Disney characters may not pose for pictures or sign autographs.
Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused admission.

At Disneyland Park:

Mickey’s Soundsational Parade is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
The Magic Eye Theater in Tomorrowland will host the Avengers Super Hero Movie Marathon throughout the day and night, presenting “Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger”!
You can catch “Fantasmic!” at 9 p.m. or 10:30 p.m. and the “Magical” fireworks spectacular at 9:25 p.m.
After the fireworks, come celebrate in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, where a DJ will be spinning tunes for everyone until 5 a.m.
Royal Swing Ball presents a live band in the Royal Theatre at Fantasy Faire from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.
Stop by the Tomorrowland Terrace for a live band in the evening and a late night Rock Your Disney Side Dance Party that lasts until 5 a.m.

At Disney California Adventure Park:

You can enjoy live music throughout the day and night at the Paradise Garden Bandstand, with performances scheduled from 11:55 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Extra performances are planned for “Disney Junior – Live on Stage!” at 9:30 a.m. and “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular” at 7:55 p.m.
Muppets Theater plays host to sing-along screenings of the Academy Award-winning film, “Frozen,” starting at 11:30 a.m. And don’t forget to check out the sneak peek of “Maleficent” in the Bug’s Life Theater.
“World of Color” will be presented on Paradise Bay at 9:45 p.m. and again at 3 a.m.
Head on down to Pacific Wharf from 10:30 p.m. – 5 a.m. for The Wharf Dance Party.
Mad T Party adds some spice to the night. You can rock ‘n’ roll your Disney Side with the Mad T Party Band and White Rabbit DJ, from 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.
So whether you choose Disneyland park or Disney California Adventure park—or both!—to express your Disney Side, you’re in for a rockin’ good time at Disneyland Resort!

We'd also like to wish our mom a very Happy Mother's Day! She has been a big part of Disney Sisters since we started and we are so grateful for her. Disney Amigurumi: 22 Tiny Adorable Dolls on Etsy

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting or knitting small stuffed animals and dolls. The word is a combination of the Japanese words ami, knitted or crocheted, and nuigurumi, which means stuffed doll. We didn't even know that word until we discovered these impossibly cute tiny dolls and did a little research of our own. The popularity of this type of knitting has been growing especially due to sites like Pinterest and Etsy, with the DIY crafting explosion!

We've seen all sorts of Amigurumi animals and pop culture characters, but just about died from cuteness overload when we found these Disney Amigurumi dolls from Little Creations by AnyaZoe. The time it takes to create the detail in these incredible tiny Disney-inspired designs is incredible! These aren't your average dolls. We got a chance to interview Anya and here's what we learned!

Disney Sisters: How long have you been creating these mini masterpieces?

Anya: I have been making amigurumi for about four years now.

DS: What made you get into amigurumi? Was it hard to learn?

Anya: In January of 2010, I decided to learn how to crochet because I really wanted to make a Sackboy plush (from LittleBigPlanet) for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. It is one of our favorite games to play together, and I thought it would make a great gift, especially if it was handmade by me. I learned how to crochet from a person on Youtube that goes by the name GoldenJellyBean. She has many tutorials on how to crochet. One of those tutorials shows you how to make an entire Sackboy. The Sackboy was quite a large plush, so after many hours of working on him with help from her youtube videos, I was able to get the hang of crocheting pretty quick. Within a few months, I learned how to make my own patterns and eventually opened an Etsy shop.

DS: Approx how long does it take you to make 1 doll?

Anya: The time it takes to make each doll varies greatly, but the average is four to six hours. The dolls with less detail, one without hair for example, take a lot less time.

DS: Any advice for someone who wants to get into making amigurumi?

Anya: The best advice I can give to someone who wants to learn how to make amigurumi is to look for as many tutorials on youtube as you can until you find something that works for you. Everyone is different, but I find that being able to stop, rewind and rewatch the youtube videos made it very easy to learn how to crochet for me.
