Dapper Day Fall Soiree 2014 - Comes to Disneyland Resort! #DapperDay

It’s the most fashionable day of the year and it’s coming to Disneyland Resort this Friday! We’re talking 2014 DAPPER DAY Fall Soiree at the Parks! Where all of the ladies and gents get all gussied up and hit the parks to show off their best vintage looks at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. We’ve been to Dapper Day many times before, it's a delightful way to experience the Parks. Check out some of our favorite fashions of previous events.

Upcoming Dapper Day Events for Fall 2014:
Friday September 12,
Disneyland Resort, California

Saturday September 20,
Disneyland Parc, Paris, France

Saturday September 27,
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World, Florida

What is Dapper Day?
Started in February 2011, DAPPER DAY organizes fashionable gatherings held twice a year (spring and fall) at the Disney Resorts in LA, Orlando, and Paris (autumn event only). These “Dapper Day” events include a “DAPPER DAY at the Parks” with informal in-park meet-ups, and other happenings outside the parks such as our DAPPER DAY Styling Suite, And our DAPPER DAY Boutique (in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel) and our official after party FOLLY in Downtown Disney Anaheim.

DAPPER DAY Events celebrate the tradition of wanting to look one’s best while out in public, and embraces the great social interaction that results when every outfit welcomes a compliment. Our events are neither a strict period recreation of the past nor a costume event (there are many other gatherings for that). Dapper Day Events are meant to showcase you at your best, and all manner of elegant attire is encouraged from vintage-inspired classics to chic contemporary looks. Active and retired military are encouraged to wear your dress blues if you like.

It’s the fashion of yesteryear mixed with the Disney Parks of today.
It’s genius.
It’s a lot of fun.
It’s a must-do for Disney fans.

For more fun please visit the Dapper Day website. Follow Dapper Day on TwitterInstagram, and Facebook, or join the email list to get all the invites. Follow along with the the hashtag #DapperDay.

Do you believe in magic?

The Disney Parks Moms Panel is currently conducting its annual search for the 2015 panelists, will it be you? For those who are just hearing about the Disney Parks Moms Panel, or those who have applied in years past - here is this year's information including how to apply for this coveted spot. It just might be you! Whether you are the Mom that everyone asks advice about Disney Vacations, or the Dad that knows which Disney Resorts to stay at while under a budget. Disney Parks is looking for you! Yes you!

WHAT:
The Walt Disney World Moms Panel was created in 2008 to serve as a forum of everyday people who used their personal knowledge of Walt Disney World vacation experiences to offer advice to others. Since then, the panel has become a valuable resource for thousands of Disney Parks guests. It's also grown since its initial launch to become the Disney Parks Moms PanelIt's a wonderfully, informative online forum of everyday people who
answer questions and offer advice based on their own experiences and opinions.

WHO:
Don't let the name fool you, Disney knows there are mouse lovin' experts of all types. Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and adults of all ages (18 years and older) are invited to apply. You don't have to be a mom or have children to be on the Moms Panel.

WHERE:
Disney Parks Moms Panelists not only help plan magical vacations for guests heading to Walt Disney World Resort, but also answer guest questions about Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, runDisney and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. They actually pick specialists in each category, so no matter your Disney expertise, you can pick which branch that you know best! (Note: this year, they will not be accepting applications for Moms Panelists in the following areas: ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and runDisney.)

WHY:
Do love Disney and want to share your helpful knowledge about the Parks with others? Do you consider yourself a go-to person who is always on the lookout to help a friend plan a magical Disney vacation? Could you communicate these answers in written form to guests around the globe? Are you a stickler when it comes to grammar, spelling and punctuation? If you answered yes to these questions, Disney wants to hear from you!

HOW:
Go to DisneyParksMomsPanel.com and apply. Become part of the magic, submit your application to become part of the select group of very special vacation planning panelists. But don't delay, the deadline to submit is on (9/5) Friday at noon, ET.

Before the movie, see Sofia from Disney’s “Sofia the First” live on stage plus a special glimpse of Disney Junior’s upcoming “Sofia the First: Curse of Princess Ivy.” Then after the movie, see Rapunzel live on stage followed by Disney’s “Tangled Ever After” short.

“‘Tangled’ introduced some of Disney’s most dynamic and iconic characters with a story that touched audiences around the world,” said Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. “This marks the first time the film will be seen at the El Capitan since it premiered in 2010, so we want to make it an event the whole family can enjoy. As Rapunzel says, ‘Best. Day. Ever!’"

Showtimes are at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), online at www.elcapitantickets.com, or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. Disney Club Penguin gets FROZEN!

Do you want to build a snowman puffle?

Disney Club Penguin is bringing the magic of "Disney’s Frozen" to Club Penguin Island from August 21 - September 3

During the Frozen Party, members will be able to dress up like their favorite characters from the film, including Olaf, Sven, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff. Players will start the party by searching for Elsa’s magic snowflakes that are hidden around the island. Once members complete the snowflake quest, they will earn the ability to transform into Olaf or Marshmallow and freeze objects around the island. While players are searching for the snowflakes, Elsa will be constructing her Ice Palace on Club Penguin Island for players to explore. Once the Ice Palace is complete, players will be able to hear a special performance of “Let It Go” when they visit.

During the Frozen Party, Club Penguin and “Disney’s Frozen” fans can:

·         Choose from a number of member-only costumes to dress their penguin characters in, including Olaf, Sven, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff themed outfits

·         Search for seven magic snowflakes that will give members special powers to freeze items around the island. All players can thaw frozen objects by using the heart emote

·         All players can visit Elsa’s Ice Palace igloo to hear a special instrumental performance of “Let it Go,” as well as decorate their own free Ice Palace themed igloo

·         Members will also be able to transform themselves into Marshmallow or Olaf or even create their own snowman Puffle

The Frozen Party will be the first party available on the Club Penguin app since it launched, a key milestone in expanding the online experience available via the app.

Taste of Downtown Disney 2014: A Delicious Recap #CHOCwalk

How often do you get to eat and drink your way through Downtown Disney with friends, while supporting an amazing cause at the same time? Last week we did just that! For the first time, we attended the 7th Annual Taste of Downtown Disney. This incredible night serves as a kick off to the CHOC Children’s Foundation’s annual fundraising drive surrounding the CHOC Walk in the Park.

We had a delightful evening savoring the flavors of the following restaurants:
Catal Restaurant and UVA Bar
Tortilla Jo's
Naples Ristorante E Pizzeria
ESPN Zone
Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen
House of Blues
Jamba Juice
La Brea Bakery
Wonderground Gallery

All guests were broken up into groups, where we each had a different route for the evening. We went from restaurant to restaurant where the drinks kept flowing, the food and appetizers were being passed  around like crazy - our kind of party! We rarely hang out in the Downtown Disney District, so this was really a unique experience. This would be the ultimate date night or girls night out, we think it's perfect for spending time catching up with family. We made a video to capture what a great event this was. If you've never been, you should definitely think about going next year. It was truly a night to remember!

More than just a fun night out on the town, proceeds benefit CHOC Children's
Become part of the team - sign up for the CHOC Walk!

This year, the CHOC Walk in the Park will be held on October 12, 2014. The 2014 walk covers three miles through Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park where “CHOC Walkers” get a special peek behind the magic before the parks open to the general public. At the end of the 5K walk, the event continues in the resort’s Downtown Disney District where event sponsors, hospital support groups, shops and restaurants have special offers for Walk participants.

In order to help CHOC reach its goal of providing quality healthcare to the region’s two million children, each CHOC Walker must raise a minimum of $50 to participate in the Walk. Everyone can register at http://www.chocwalk.org and receive up-to-date event information at CHOC Foundation on Facebook and Twitter.

Happy Birthday Disneyland: Celebrating the Park's 59th Anniversary

Yesterday, July 17th, the Disneyland Resort celebrated its 59th anniversary with a festive ceremony for guests! We are always up for a party, especially one celebrating the happiest place on earth!

Happy Birthday Disneyland!

"The popularity of Disneyland through the past 59 years celebrates Walt Disney’s dream of a place where family members of all ages can have fun together in a safe, clean atmosphere that emphasizes imagination and extraordinary guest service. Since 1955, dignitaries, heads of state, celebrities and more than 700 million guests have passed through the gates of a place that Walt imagined as “a source of joy and inspiration to the world.”

Looking ahead to next year to the 60th anniversary, Disneyland Resort will launch a dazzling yearlong Diamond Celebration that salutes 60 years of magic, in the spring of 2015. We are so excited for the things to come! Next year is going to be awesome! The Diamond Celebration logo was also unveiled yesterday as part of the annual July 17 anniversary celebration. That's enough bling to make any Princess swoon.

Guests visiting Disneyland yesterday, were lucky enough to join fifty-nine Disney characters on Main Street, U.S.A., (that's a lot of characters) to hear a recording of Walt Disney’s opening day “welcome” speech (which always gives us the chills) and sing “Happy Birthday” in a festive marking of the 59th anniversary. You can see the video HERE.

Disney invites generations of guests to share their favorite memories through photos taken at the Disneyland Resort. You can submit photos that represent your memories from the Disneyland Decades – 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000 to the present. Using the hashtag #Disneyland60Contest, then share your photos via Twitter or Instagram by August 27, 2014. For complete rules, see the post on the Disney Parks Blog. Readers of the Disney Parks Blog will vote for the top photos and one lucky guest will have a chance to win a trip to the Disneyland Resort for the start of the 60th anniversary celebration in Spring 2015.
Look for more Diamond Celebration updates throughout the year on Disney Sisters and the Disney Parks Blog.
