Disney Sisters: The Secret Side Effects Of Disney aka The Disney Hangover

The Secret Side Effects Of Disney aka The Disney Hangover

What are Disney Withdrawals?
For us, our symptoms began after our recent trip to Walt Disney World for a convention called
Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. From the moment we returned home we noticed difficulty adjusting back into our daily routine. Since we believe awareness is key here, we would like to share with you, our readers a glimpse into our lives as we experienced
"The Secret Side Effects of Disney (no one ever talks about)."
WARNING:
Some images may be not be suitable for younger audiences:
The first completely unexpected side effect was the need to set date for our next trip back to Disney before we even unpacked or started the 27 loads of vacation laundry.

We had the inability to focus on anything other than Disney.
We shared story after story of every single magical moment from our trip with friends, neighbors
and yes, even a handful of perfect strangers.

There was LOTS of whining and crying. Our kids were sad too.

Our family kept asking for desserts shaped like Mickey Mouse.

We spent many late nights on Twitter searching the #DisneySMMoms Hashtag and @DisneySMMoms.
Posts and Posts and Posts of DisneySMMoms coverage swirling in our head, not to mention wishing every conference was hosted by Disney.

And probably the most embarrasing,
Our endless searching for the "Fast Pass" kiosks everywhere we went like the post office, super market and especially the DMV.

Thank you to everyone we met, for being part of very first Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and to everyone who worked to hard at making our trip magical, it was a Dream Come True!

Full Disclosure: We were invited to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. Walt Disney World offered a special discounted rate for all attendees and their families. This is a once in a lifetime experience and we are grateful to Disney for allowing us to participate. We'll be sharing unique things seen and heard throughout the Celebration. Please keep in mind these our own personal thoughts and opinions, not those of the Walt Disney Company.

  2. So glad to have met you all! It was a short weekend trip for us but we felt totally refreshed just to get away. I miss the parks!! We rode Tower of Terror 3 times and Lily kept asking me "mommy, why is daddy screaming so loudly?" She loved it!

  3. So thrilled to have met you when we first arrived at Disney. Once we got home it hit me when there was no Laundry FastPass waiting to do my laundry, no Mousekeeping leaving towel animals, and no driver to take me near and far.

  6. We are having serious withdrawal symptoms.... I miss bloggers, Disney cast members, the Parks, Mickey, Minnie, princesses... I keep waving my daughter's Cinderella Table wand and holding her Wishing Star, but it's not working... yet! "I believe, I believe, I believe...."

  7. Why didn't anyone warn me about this before I went. I am still going through withdrawl. Guess there was really no point in warning me though, I wouldn't have missed it for the world. :-)

  11. OMG! LOL!!!! Good point Melanie, how could we have left out the line of people cheering & clapping for us at Art of Animation? Getting the RockStar treatment is definitely something that we could get used too! So awesome finally meeting you at the carnival section of Dinoland! Hope to see you soon! Thx for the comment!
