Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast Review

We were so excited to get the opportunity to see a screening of the new digitally released Disney movie Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast. We have followed the new Tinker Bell series since the beginning and love all the magic and adventure of the fairies of Pixie Hollow. The movies have been such a clever way to reveal a creative character study and captivating backstory of Tinker Bell, the beloved character that Disney introduced in 1953 in their movie Peter Pan (an adaptation of J. M. Barrie's story). If you haven’t yet discovered the Tinker Bell movies, you really should. They are darling movies that take place in Pixie Hollow and begin at the very start, answering the when/how/why Tinker Bell became a Tinker (adorable). Pixie Hollow is full of wonderful things including delightful cast of Pixies. Note: the voices behind these characters represent quite a list of A-List female celebrities, including Mae Whitman as Tinker Bell who hosted the screening of the movie we went to on the Disney lot. It was really neat!

The most recent release, the seventh of the series, Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast, focuses on Fawn, the animal fairy (Ginnifer Goodwin) and the NeverBeast, the mysterious creature that myths are made of) and how they forge a special friendship based on faith, trust, patience and fierce love.

We were definitely not expecting a movie based on fairies and mythical creatures to keep us on the edge of our seat but we were drawn in during the first action packed scene and the intensity only built from there. Beautiful animation, humor, compassion, kindness and the many endearing characters carried the movie as we (and everyone in the theater) we’re entranced by Gruff (Fawn’s name for the NeverBeast) but there were highs and lows and twists and turns that were, in a word, intense! There were moments that potentially very scary for young children (the NeverBeast is misunderstood, for good reason) but in the end, the Gruff’s true intentions revealed and Fawn discovers that her intuition about him was right all along and that they’re friendship was real. Thankfully, all ends well for all the fairies and Pixie Hollow is safe. As for the end of the movie…

SPOILER ALERT!!!
[Please note: if you don’t want any kind of hints as to how the movie ends don’t read on]

Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast takes a very sweet yet very sad turn. The way the movie ends is BEAUTIFUL; truly touching and almost unbearably tender. In other words, take your tissue. The difficult yet universal themes of love and loss are handled in such a thoughtful way, none the less, we cried in the theater, on the walk to the car and on the drive home. Heartfelt, authentic and tender Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast left us feeling very deeply about the themes of friendship, love, trust, true connection and loss. It was a wonderful movie and it’s available on DVD now.

We would love to hear your thoughts on the movie.
Let us know what you think of it. Did you cry as much as we did?

Disclosure: We were invited to the movie screening as a member of the media. No other compensation was received. The opinions on this blog are 100% magical and 100% those of the Disney Sisters only.

Tinker Bell, Secret of the Wings, and McClain Sisters

We are so excited to share the big news:
Tinker Bell has a SISTER!!!
In the latest Tinker Bell movie, "Secret of the Wings," Tinker Bell (voiced by Mae Whitman) discovers  she has a sister, named Periwinkle. (voiced by Lucy Hale) She embarks on her first journey into the mysterious but exciting Winter World of Pixie Hollow. An epic adventure and life-changing secrets will be revealed when the movie is released on October 23.

More big news...

 McClain Sisters,
Sierra, Lauryn and China Anne McClain, real-life SISTERS themselves are singing the featured song, "The Great Divide." Watch the clip below to hear a preview of McClain Sisters' amazing new song "The Great Divide."

“There is no friend like a sister
In calm or stormy weather;
To cheer one on the tedious ay,
To fetch one if one goes astray,
To lift one if one totters down,
To strengthen whilst one stands.”

– Christina Rossetti, title poem (1859)

Celebrating Sisters Day

Celebrating Sisters Day
We're celebrating the magic of sisterhood today.

“I don’t believe an accident of birth makes people sisters or brothers. It makes them siblings, gives them mutuality of parentage. Sisterhood and brotherhood is a condition people have to work at.”
- Maya Angelou

How special it would be to find the sister you never knew you had?
In "Secret of the Wings" the all-new, Disney Fairies movie Tinker Bell finds out that she, herself, has a sister. We consider ourselves very lucky to have not only one, but two sisters. Two sisters to share secrets with. Two sisters to laugh with, to cry with and to enjoy life with. "Secret of the Wings" is endearing to all and for those with sisters, be sure to bring your tissues. sniff. sniff.

While watching a screening of "Secret of the Wings" we were thrilled hear our favorite trio McClain Sisters sing the featured song, “The Great Divide.” Their voices are so beautiful and the song brought tears to our eyes. China Anne, Lauryn and Sierra are delightful girls and we are so proud of their success.

Celebrating the special bond between sisters, “The Great Divide” song is featured in the movie and in a contemporary version and music video that makes its world premiere on Disney Channel on September 9.  The song makes its exclusive online debut on Disney.com on September 10, and will also be released as a digital single by Walt Disney Records on September 11, 2012.

For the first time ever Tinker Bell will fly from Pixie Hollow onto Disney Blu-ray 3D
on October 23 in "Secret of the Wings."
